Stats show how Marouane Fellaini's injury will affect Manchester United

Stat Attack | Posted on by
Following the news that Manchester United's Marouane Fellaini is set to miss this weekend's Premier League clash with Liverpool at Anfield following a minor knee injury, we have taken a look at how United have fared with and without the Belgian going all the way back to 2013 when he joined the club.

Marouane Fellaini's six Premier League appearances this season have all ended with wins. In the only match he missed, they failed to pick up all three points, drawing 2-2 away to Stoke City.

While United's record this season is better with Fellaini in the side, we've gone all the way back to the beginning of the 2013/14 season when the Belgian joined the club to see how they've performed with and without him.

Although our stats show it's close, we can reveal United have performed slightly better in almost every area when Fellaini plays.

In 95 league games featuring Fellaini, United have enjoyed a win rate of 53 per cent. In the 64 matches he has missed, this has dropped slightly to 50 per cent. However their loss rate has been unaffected (22%).

Our stats go on to show that United score more (1.61) and concede less (0.86) per game with Fellaini than without (1.52 for & 1 against).

Overall, United's points per game with the Belgian in the side is narrowly higher (1.83) than without him (1.78).
