Stats reveal the best five keepers to pick in your fantasy football team

Nick Pope and David de Gea are the best performing goalkeepers in the Premier League this season and Oulala.com have the stats to prove it. Get them in your fantasy football team now!

Saves per goal conceded is by far the best way to analyse how well a goalkeeper has performed. Other stats such as clean sheets, goals conceded and saves are generally influenced by the quality of the defence a keeper has in front of him or the overall strength of his team. However, saves per goal conceded is the clearest way to measure a keeper's performance on an individual basis as it represents how a keeper has responded when called upon.

Nick Pope has deputised for regular Burnley keeper, Tom Heaton, since September following a shoulder injury. Although Heaton is due to return in the new year, he may find it difficult to walk straight back into the side. Pope is statistically the Premier League's best performing keeper this season, making 40 saves in 11 appearances, while conceding just seven goals. A remarkable saves per goal conceded figure of 5.71.

It's unsurprising to see David de Gea as high as second in the list of best performing goalkeepers in the Premier League this season. The Manchester United number one has registered 39 saves in his 14 appearances, conceding just eight goals. An average of 4.88 saves per goal conceded.

Swansea's Lukasz Fabianski (3.69), Bournemouth's Asmir Begovic (3.67) and Chelsea's Thibaut Courtois (2.91) complete the top five Premier League goalkeepers to pick in your fantasy football side this season.

So there it is, the best performing Premier League keepers. Now time to choose which one you would like between the sticks when you pick your Oulala fantasy football team this weekend...
