Better than Messi & Ronaldo? Stats show Chelsea star having best season ever

Eden Hazard tops Real Madrid's wish list and is tipped to be the next player to win the Ballon d'Or ahead of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. Here, daily fantasy football game Oulala.com reveal the stats that show the Belgian is better now than he's ever been...

Eden Hazard has bagged five goals and two assists in the Premier League this season, a direct goal involvement, on average, every 103 minutes.

The 26-year-old has been even better in the Champions League. His three goals and two assists have come at an average of every 88 minutes.

When comparing his form in the Premier League and Champions League to his previous five seasons at Chelsea, the stats clearly show that Hazard is better now than he's ever been.

Previously, Hazard's best Premier League output in terms of goals and assists on a per minute basis came in his debut season in 2012/13, averaging a goal or assist every 132 minutes. He is currently averaging 103 minutes for each of the seven league goals he has been involved in, a significant improvement of 29 minutes.

While in the Champions League, Hazard's previous best form came in 2014/15, the year he was crowned English football's best player. That season, Hazard averaged a goal or an assist every 131 minutes in Europe. This year, the 26-year-old has shaved a massive 43 minutes off that, averaging just 88 minutes for each of the five goals he has been involved in.

With Real Madrid circling, how long can Chelsea keep hold of Eden Hazard in this form?
